# QA Report — Cycle 17
**Date:** 2026-03-31
**QA Engineer:** 09-qa
**Verdict:** PASS
---
## Scope
This cycle reviewed Backend's three categories of changes:
1. **session-tracker.sh namespace rename** (BUG-025 fix)
2. **`set -euo pipefail` upgrade** for 5 efficiency scripts (QA-F002 fix)
3. **test-integration.sh expansion** from 8 to 22 modules
---
## Test Results
| Suite | Files | Result |
|-------|-------|--------|
| Full test suite | 23/23 | PASS |
| `bash -n` syntax | 22/22 | PASS |
| Integration assertions | 96+ | PASS |
| Session-tracker tests | 33/33 | PASS |
**Zero regressions.**

## Change Review
### 1. session-tracker.sh — Namespace Rename (BUG-025)
**What changed:** All public API and internal state renamed:
- `orch_tracker_init` -> `orch_session_init`
- `orch_tracker_window` -> `orch_session_window`
- `orch_tracker_stats` -> `orch_session_stats`
- `_ORCH_TRACKER_*` state vars -> `_ORCH_SESSION_*`
- Guard: `_ORCH_TRACKER_LOADED` -> `_ORCH_SESSION_TRACKER_LOADED`
- Internal helpers: `_orch_tracker_*` -> `_orch_session_*`
**Verification:**
- Zero references to old `orch_tracker_*` or `_ORCH_TRACKER_*` names remain in session-tracker.sh
- `cycle-tracker.sh` retains its own `orch_tracker_init` etc. (correct — separate namespace)
- Integration test explicitly asserts no collision: sources both modules, verifies `orch_tracker_init` still belongs to cycle-tracker and `orch_session_init` belongs to session-tracker
- 33/33 session-tracker tests pass with new API names
- INTEGRATION-GUIDE.md updated to match
**Result:** PASS. Clean rename, no stale references.
### 2. Scripts — `set -euo pipefail` Upgrade (QA-F002)
**Files changed:**
- `scripts/agent-health-report.sh`
- `scripts/commit-summary.sh`
- `scripts/post-cycle-router.sh`
- `scripts/pre-cycle-stats.sh`
- `scripts/pre-pm-lint.sh`
**What changed:** `set -uo pipefail` -> `set -euo pipefail` in all 5 scripts. 8 instances of `cmd | wc -l` and similar patterns now have `|| var=0` or `|| var=""` fallbacks to prevent `set -e` from aborting on benign zero-match results.
**Verification:**
- Each `|| fallback` is correctly placed at pipeline end (not mid-pipeline)
- Fallback values match variable usage context (0 for counts, "" for strings)
- `grep -c` instances correctly use `|| errors=0` (grep -c returns 1 when zero matches)
- `ls -t ... | head -1` correctly uses `|| latest_log=""` (fails when no files match)
**Result:** PASS. All fallbacks are correct and necessary for `set -e` safety.
### 3. test-integration.sh — 22-Module Expansion
**What changed:**
- Sources all 22 modules (was 8): v0.1.0 (8) + v0.2.0 (6) + v0.2.5 (2) + v0.3.0 (4) + v0.3.0+ (2)
- Guard variable assertions for all 22 modules
- Public API function existence checks for all 22 modules (~74 function assertions)
- Namespace collision regression test for BUG-025
- `orch_fn_count` threshold raised from 20 to 80
**Verification:**
- All modules sourced in correct dependency order
- Guard variable names match actual module guards
- Function names match actual public APIs
- Collision test is sound: sources both modules in a subshell and greps function body
**Result:** PASS. Comprehensive integration coverage.

## Open Bugs
| Bug | Severity | Status | Notes |
|-----|----------|--------|-------|
| BUG-024 (#180) | LOW | OPEN | ralph-baseline.sh hardcoded `/tmp` — awaiting 06-backend |
No new bugs found this cycle.
---
## QA-F002 Status
QA-F002 (LOW) from cycle 12 — "4/6 new scripts missing `set -e`" — is now **CLOSED**. All 5 applicable scripts have been upgraded to `set -euo pipefail` with proper fallbacks. (The 6th, `secrets-scan.sh`, already had `set -euo pipefail`.)
---
## Summary
Clean cycle. Backend delivered three well-scoped changes:
- BUG-025 namespace collision: fixed and regression-tested
- QA-F002 `set -e` gap: fixed with correct fallback patterns
- Integration test: expanded to cover all 22 modules
No new bugs. No regressions. Full suite green.when to use it
