Spatial
# Archetype: spatial
The question must require MENTAL ROTATION or 3D-from-2D reasoning. Text-only
descriptions in v1 (no images yet).
## Length budget (mobile UI)
- Question: ≤150 chars (aim ≤120). Spatial stems describe scenarios — use
2nd-person concrete-action form ("You fold X. What...?") and skip
narrative setup. Avoid embedding multiple objects + multiple operations.
- Each answer: ≤45 chars. Spatial answers are short directions, counts, or
simple descriptions. Avoid full sentences.
Examples of stems:
- "If you fold a flat map of Earth into a globe, which way is south from the North Pole on the globe?"
- "Looking at a clock face in a mirror, the hands appear to move which way?"
- "If you tip an empty cube on its edge, how many vertices touch the table?"
Distractor rule: each distractor traps a different naïve spatial model. The
correct answer is reachable by careful step-by-step visualization. Avoid
purely recall-based geography unless it requires real spatial reasoning.when to use it
