# Campaign Postmortem Prompt

> A structured post-campaign debrief that separates decision quality from outcome luck, converts results into transferable rules, and outputs the experiment-log entry that makes your next campaign start smarter.

## ⚡ What it does

Most campaign learnings die in two ways: winners get celebrated without knowing WHY they won (so the win can't be repeated), and losers get buried without extracting the lesson (so the loss gets repeated). This prompt forces the honest middle: what did we believe going in, what actually happened at each funnel layer, which decisions were good even if the outcome was bad — and what RULE, if any, does this campaign earn the right to write?

## 🎯 When I use it (real scenario)

This became a fixed ritual for the same reason the experiment log exists in my [Growth Strategist GPT](../../gpts/growth-strategist-gpt.md) knowledge files: without written postmortems, I kept watching teams (mine included) re-test last year's failed idea with this year's budget — and re-argue settled questions from memory instead of records. Twenty minutes after each campaign closes the loop; the log becomes the collective memory that survives team changes and AI-advisor sessions alike.

## 📋 The Prompt

when to use it

Community prompt sourced from the open-source GitHub repo growthack88/growth-marketing-os (MIT). A "Campaign Postmortem" style prompt — adapt the placeholders and specifics to your task. Imported as-is and not independently retested here, so check the output before relying on it.
