# Buyer Personas
Four personas recur across Meridian deals. Each has a different fear, a different metric, and a different word for the same thing.
## The Café Owner-Operator ("Renu")
Runs one to three cafés, often behind the bar herself. Cares about cup quality, barista workflow, and not getting locked into gear she'll outgrow. Fears buying the wrong machine and eating the cost.
- **Metric that matters:** shots per hour at peak, drink consistency.
- **Says:** "dial-in," "throughput," "the bar."
- **Win condition:** she trusts that Meridian scoped her actual rush, not a brochure spec.
## The Operations Manager ("Darnell")
Owns coffee across a multi-site restaurant group or QSR chain. Cares about standardization, uptime, and predictable cost per site. Fears a 7am outage with no tech available.
- **Metric that matters:** uptime, mean time to repair, cost per location.
- **Says:** "SLA," "rollout," "spec across sites," "service window."
- **Win condition:** one repeatable spec and a service contract he can defend to finance.
## The Facilities / Office Manager ("Priya")
Runs an office coffee program as one of forty responsibilities. Low coffee expertise, no barista on staff. Cares about "it just works" and not being the person who fields complaints.
- **Metric that matters:** maintenance burden, employee satisfaction.
- **Says:** "low-touch," "managed," "who do I call."
- **Win condition:** café-in-a-box removes coffee from her problem list.
## The Procurement Lead ("Tom")
Common at universities and hotels. Owns the contract, not the coffee. Cares about price, terms, compliance paperwork, and vendor consolidation. Fears an audit finding or an unbudgeted overage.
- **Metric that matters:** total contract value, terms, paper trail.
- **Says:** "MSA," "net terms," "line items," "approved vendor."
- **Win condition:** clean documentation and predictable multi-year pricing (configured by a Meridian advisor, never quoted by the assistant).
