## What It Is
PromptCast is a web app that generates structured show notes, chapter markers, and social clips from podcast audio files. Users upload an MP3 or paste a transcript, select their output format, and get publication-ready content in under 60 seconds. Built for independent podcasters who produce consistently but hate the post-production writing grind.
---
## Why I'm Building It
Independent podcasters ship 1–4 episodes per week but the show notes, timestamps, and social content take 1–2 hours per episode manually. AI can do a better job faster. The market is fragmented — most tools are either too generic (ChatGPT prompting) or too expensive (enterprise podcast platforms). There's a clear gap for a focused, affordable tool that does one thing well.
