# Using SiftingIO rules with ChatGPT
ChatGPT has no project rules file to drop in, so you load the SiftingIO ruleset through its UI. Pick whichever scope fits how you work. In every case, the content you paste is the body of [`AGENTS.md`](../AGENTS.md) (the combined ruleset).
## Option A: Projects (recommended)
Best when you're doing focused SiftingIO work over many chats.
1. In the ChatGPT sidebar, create a **Project** (e.g. "SiftingIO").
2. Open the project's **Instructions**.
3. Paste the contents of [`AGENTS.md`](../AGENTS.md).
4. Start chats inside the project and the instructions apply to all of them.
## Option B: Custom GPT
Best if you want a reusable, shareable assistant.
1. Go to **Explore GPTs → Create**.
2. In **Configure → Instructions**, paste the contents of [`AGENTS.md`](../AGENTS.md).
3. Give it a name and description, then save.
## Option C: Account-wide custom instructions
Best if SiftingIO is the main API you work with everywhere.
1. **Settings → Personalization → Custom instructions**.
2. In "How would you like ChatGPT to respond?", paste a trimmed version of [`AGENTS.md`](../AGENTS.md) (this box is length-limited, keep the Core + the surface you use most).
## Tips
- Paste the **body** of `AGENTS.md`; you can drop the top tool-header note.
- If you hit a length limit, keep section **1 (Core)** plus whichever of fundamentals / historical / live you're using.
- For authoritative endpoint detail, point ChatGPT at the live docs: `https://sifting.io` and the REST base `https://api.sifting.io`.
- Never paste a real `sft_...` key into the instructions; keep keys in your code's environment.when to use it
