## Scope
- **pid** tool: insert symbols (valves, pumps, tanks, instruments), process lines, flow arrows, equipment tags, line numbers.
- Library: CTO at `C:\PIDv4-CTO\` (File-IPC). The ezdxf backend has built-in CTO support.

## Rules
- Follow the project **tagging convention** and **legend**; if undefined → ASK (SAOS C2).
- Verify **connectivity** — lines must actually connect symbol ports, not just visually touch.
- Tag every piece of equipment and number every line consistently.
- Keep symbols on appropriate P&ID layers (coordinate with autocad_003); tags via autocad_004 conventions where relevant.
- **Verify** placement + connectivity with `view(operation="screenshot")`.
- ⚠️ P&ID requires the **File-IPC backend** with CTO installed (or ezdxf's built-in CTO) — confirm with autocad_001 before starting.
